25 Afghan militants killed

Twenty five anti-government insurgents have been killed, three others were injured over the past 24 hours, Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Afghan police backed by army and NATO-led forces during joint operations in Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan and Paktia province have killed 25 rebels over the past 24 hours"the statement said.

It also said that three more militants were arrested and three others sustained injuries.

However, it did not say if there were any casualties on the security forces, adding that a number of arms and ammunitions have been seized during the operations.
