Turkey's Central Bank says 5-percent inflation target attainable this year
Turkey's 5-percent inflation target would be reached at the end of the year, the semi-official Anatolia news agency quoted the Central Bank's governor as saying Monday.
Erdem Basci said during a meeting of Council of Ministers that as a result of compensatory monetary measures, the 5-percent inflation target of 2011 would be met at the end of the year.
Turkey's inflation rate would begin to reduce again as of the beginning of 2012, he predicted, adding that the upward trend in the current account deficit would be put under control as of the last quarter of 2011.
