Police arrest 5 insurgents in Afghan Helmand province
Afghan police raided Taliban hideouts in Kajaki district of Helmand 555 km south of Afghan capital city Kabul in the wee hours of Sunday, a press release of provincial administration said.
"The raid conducted in Zamendawar Nicha Sfaly village of Kajaki district at 01:00 a.m. local time today as a result five insurgents were captured and 10 kg explosive were seized from their possessions," the press release added.
However, it did not provide more details.
Helmand has been regarded as the hotbed of Taliban militants in southern region of the militancy-hit Afghanistan.
