Georgia tops South Caucasus in ease of paying taxes: survey
The South Caucasus country of Georgia has been ranked 39th overall in a worldwide survey in the ease of paying taxes.
The survey, which was conducted by the World Bank (WB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), also took into consideration such other matters as tax payment, time to comply and pay taxes and total tax rate.
Georgia moved up on the latest WB-IFC-PWC survey whereas it was ranked 61st overall in the previous survey which also studied 183 countries and regions in the world.
In the South Caucasus region, Georgia was ranked first, ahead of Azerbaijan's 77th and Armenia's 153rd positions in the ease of paying taxes.
The tax survey was carried out alongside the World Bank Doing Business 2012 Report.
